Middle School Speeches

Decent Essays
Middle school, the time you’re learning your most, yet never quite enough.

The teachers don’t care how your day was.
They only care you finished the homework you didn’t have the time to do.

The students cut you down and talk about you behind your back.
Their comments cut like knives, but these words only make you stronger.

You’ll find those certain crazy people who make your smile shine.
Although they may not be the best influence, you still love them.
You trust them with everything and you’re the happiest you’ve ever been.

Only to find out, you’re losing them for a whole new adventure, high school.

After almost one-hundred and eighty days, the 2015-2016 school year is approaching an end. So far, I have concluded that middle school is basically like building a house. Before middle school started, in fifth grade, the house only had the boards and the main skeleton of the whole structure. All of the basics are learned in elementary school: learning how to read, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction, fractions, the founding of America,, etcetera, but by the time students reach sixth grade, new knowledge builds onto what is already known. Letters are added into the familiar math equations; stories are written with all of the reading and grammar knowledge; unfamiliar people, wars, and awakenings add onto the history of America.…

Middle school can be an odd and rough time for kids, as they change from being sheltered youth to responsible young adults. I failed miserably at handling that transition. The classes taught in middle school were supposed to be easy, especially now that I look in retrospect. Yet, I regularly brought home B’s and low A’s, at best, on my report card. I had barely challenged myself in middle school, if at all.…

Noor Al-Maadeed “Being judged by others” this personal piece that I shared, describes a past event happened during high school years. I learned how to overcome this negative experience to positive thing that helped shape my character turn into the confident woman I am today. The process of revising this piece of writing is on of the hardest because it is difficult for me to express my feelings about a place that is filled with negativity. My father likes to call middle school the “armpit of his education.” Middle school can be like a roller coaster because it has ups and downs, uncomfortable situations, and things that make you want to throw up. The first day of seventh grade was scary but boring. But, by the second day I loved middle school. I loved the variety of people, my electives and Flex.…

In the “im just bill” song by School house rock, it only goes over the brief aspects of the complicated long process on how a bill becomes a law. In the song, it states like most things, the bill starts off as an idea. Mostly these ideas come from problems that arise in the American society. The problems then go forth as ideas to a congress man in which that he has to agree with. If the congress man agrees then he we will write the bill which will later be presented to the committee and will stay in the committee for a long time.…

Descriptive Essay Nearly everyone had a high school experience, and many people have some kind of college experience. People who experienced both of these know how overwhelming the transition from high school to college can be at first. Dual enrollment is a great example of attending public high school and a community college at the same time and yet finding it to be a confusing contrast. For two places that have a similar purpose, which is to educate, the experience one will have at both places is far more different than one would expect.…

Middle school is a place where kids finally start to show who they’re going to be for a long time. It isn’t a place to be popular and look pretty. The most important advice for middle schoolers is to be yourself and not let people around you influence your ideas. Mostly everyone comes into middle school thinking how they’re going to get popular or how they’re going to get more friends, but in reality, everyone who has that mindset is a follower and has no self-direction. You’ll never be great in life if you keep following every corporeality everyone does.…

Freshman year of high school is scary for anyone, the enormous transition from being a top dog at middle school, back to an underclassman; wondering if your high school teachers will be as unforgiving as your 8th grade teacher’s descriptions, or even just that uncertainty that comes along with any major change. As a homeschooler entering school system for the first time, and having completely skipped 8th grade, it was terrifying. I had no idea what to expect, I worried about being behind the other students, or having missed something in my homeschooling curriculum, even interacting with other kids was all unfamiliar. It definitely didn’t help that, at 13, I was the youngest person in the building. Just two days into the school year, I discovered that P-AP world…

Waking up before the sun on the first day of high school, I pictured myself walking into heaven. No more jail-like school uniforms that I’ve been stuck with since kindergarten, overly handsome varsity athletes everywhere, popular cliques that all the dorks -like myself-looked up to, and freedom. Freedom from being treated like a baby. I was practically grown. At least that is what I thought; it was only the beginning.…
