Middle School-Personal Narrative

As I moved into middle school there was something missing. A huge part of my life that had been there forever was gone. It was like a huge hole was taken out of me. For the first time in my life, I did not have recess. A wonderful time to spend with friends, to hang out, and to have fun. Recess is such an abbreviated period of time, but everyday I remember waiting to run outside and play around with my friends. Once we got outside I was ecstatic, and wanted to run, jump, and talk to friends.
This is the sound of the bell. It rings
DING, DING, DING. The one bell I did not dread of the day. Running down the hallway to the playground, I could hear all of the kids yelling and screaming. It was the best moment of the day, when I could see all of my friends, no matter what class they were in. We would run around and create our own games. It was the best time of my life; playing with my friends with little, to no supervision from teachers because they were to busy in the teacher's lounge.
His eyes hurt and mild, he waits, holding his things.
But he knows a while well, and longs for the clang of the bell.

She was shy and did not want to talk to anyone in class, but instead sat alone during class and recess. I felt horrible because recess should be the best time of the entire day, and this girl was sitting alone and sad. I knew what I had to do, even if it meant ditching my friends. I walked over to this girl and sat next to her. At first she did not want to talk to me because she just wanted this abhorrent day to be over, but after a while, she spoke to me. She said her name was Riley. We talked the whole rest of recess and after a few days I introduced her to my friends; who to my surprise she instantly clicked with. I was so happy to have a new friend and to make someone feel better, and not all

I approached her and the words seemed to rush out of my mouth like a waterfall. Then, I panicked and walked away without giving her a chance to react. Middle School Mid-Life Crisis Middle school, a time of cringe worthy moments and regret. I like to refer to this story as my “Middle School Mid-Life Crisis”, since I questioned the purpose of going to school almost every day, and never felt motivated to do anything. Dreading almost every day of school, not having stable mental, emotional, or physical health, and feeling dissatisfied with myself as a student. My mind set was always on countdown mode, “I just have to make it through this class period. I only have 20 more problems to do.”…

Melanie, Violet, Summer, Mark, Travis, Justin and myself, America, have been friends since freshmen year at Guelph University in Guelph Ontario, Canada. Every year we promised each other that we’d go away for reading week, but as the years went on none of us had the time or energy or money to go anywhere, we all just wanted to stay local, and sleep in the comfort of our hometown, Guelph. As senior year was approaching and the thought of all of us going our separate ways, we decided that we’d go to Montreal for the week, the number one party city in Canada since the lifestyle is very easygoing and carefree especially among the young crowd. I wasn’t that much of a partier but I figured it would be a good way to de-stress and just enjoy being 23 without having my head stuffed into a book.…

It has been an unbelievable journey from the beginning of kindergarten to the end of eighth grade. There were many memories I cherished over the years. I remember when we were the first class to attend the pumpkin patch through a buddy system with the eighth graders. I recall when we did our various projects about nature and wildlife around us in first grade. In second grade, I remember when we sent Flat Stanley to our…

“Don’t forget, the paper is due next Wednesday!” My 8th period teacher, Mrs. Oakford told to my class and I as we streamed out of the cramped classroom on a Friday. We couldn’t wait to bust out of the schools doors and claim our prize of a short freedom for surviving another busy, exhausting, and slow week of middle school. I rushed to my locker, grabbed everything I would need for the homework due Monday, threw it in my bag and headed down the hall collecting my friends to walk to town to start what I would hope would be a slow but fun weekend off The weekend went quicker than I wished and before I knew it, it was late Sunday night and I still hadn’t done my homework, I realized this and got to work.…

In the seventh grade, I faced a large transition in life. The previous year I had experienced middle school for the first time, but I would make that entrance again. I moved from Texas to North Dakota, where seventh grade was the first year of middle school. I took on those same fears and hopes that I had faced before, but in an unfamiliar place where I had no one except for family to give me support. I tried a lot of new things that year, mainly wrestling.…

At long last I have entered middle school as a 6th grader. The first thing on my mind was to join a sport with my friends. We all easily agreed on basketball, since it was the only one we knew how to play. I somehow ended up showing last for try outs. I didn’t let that get to me and I tried my best with my tutor watching me from the sidelines.…

Who would have known that middle school could be so cruel. Seriously, at that young age I thought that the kids would be sweet as gum drops. I was dead wrong. It was as if it was a crime to not have been a stick figure. It was a crime for to embrace your intellectual side.…

Second grade was back with Mrs. Crawford again. This was another excellent year because she was the teacher that got to teach us phonics, yes we waited until second grade to really delve into the world of phonics rather than kindergarten like the do now. Also, second grade is where we really started getting science and social studies for the first time.…
