My best day of spring break was when we were driving home from Ohio and we saw a huge car meet. We had to stop by because there were so many cars to see. For the past five summers, I’ve worked at a summer camp as a counselor. I met a wide range of people, from underprivileged children to knowledgeable college students. Not only did I teach campers how to make ice cream and friendship bracelets, I made lifelong connections with many of the other counselors. Camp is where I learned what it meant to be part of a supportive community. Although most of us only see each other during summer, it’s an amazing feeling to come back to such a devoted group of people and work together doing what we…

Freedom Middle School needs some changes. The dress code is undeniably unfair. Especially for the women of this school. It is important to change the dress code because shoulders aren’t distracting, no one pays attention to thighs, and there are more things to worry about rather than seeing a bra strap. First off, off the shoulder shirts aren’t all that.…

Moving schools away from all of my friends should’ve been an appalling experience, surprisingly, it was a blessing in disguise. I went to Agnes Baptist Elementary from kindergarten to 5th grade and I had friends that I've known since I was 3. I loved it there and knew the school like the back of my hand. Everything was superior, like most good things, though there were times where they weren’t, I was harassed by a bully almost everyday, my grades were getting inadequate, and my mom didn’t want me to be a sad, disconsolate 7th grader at a new junior high. In the result, I moved and I went to Savage Middle School, a school that had 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.…

It was the day before spring break where I knew my life would be forever changed! I was in the 10th grade and I have dreamed of always performing in the school talent show and winning the title of ‘’ Most Talented’’ and of course the cash prize. It was a terrible feeling of not having someone who can talk to you or inspire you to participate in school clubs but that all changed when second semester arrived. If I remember correctly, 4th grade was the year when I first wore glasses. I am very nearsighted, so when I first got my glasses I felt relieved, again. Now, when you are a senior in high school you tend to look more into those old photos of yourself and notice how awkward you looked. I had a bit of baby weight on me, and I didn’t know how to smile. But, that did not stop my love for school.…
