In the video twenty-five seven year olds were evaluated on how they were handling to cope with peer pressure and would it be easier to conform in order to be part of a group or be robbed of their individuality? A test was done with all of the children to find out how they would react with differences in people. Different scenarios were given, for example being excluded from a group, being sad and being a slow runner. A little boy named Jamie was asked do you think it is right to not ask the slow runner to join the team. Jamie’s response was “they should have asked him to join the team because it doesn’t matter about winning.”…
There is much paperwork to complete, many behavior problems to deal with, struggles with administration and parents to overcome, and much more on any given day. Some people see education as an “easy” career with summers off and being home early, whereas Della often stays well after the students have left, does much preparation and grading at home, and even attends classes in the summer. In addition to her normal teaching responsibilities (which includes study hall duty), Della helps plan for prom and graduation and is a mentor teacher for new “resident educators”. Despite all the negativity and busyness, Della enjoys (and sticks with) teaching because of those moments when students finally understand a difficult topic they’ve been struggling with – it is truly a motivation like none other! Della gave me a few pointers as a pre-service teacher and beyond: keep up with and embrace technology, seek out and learn fresh ideas for my future classroom classroom, and take refresher courses as needed throughout my career.…
Many people had their own ways in dealing with the realities of life, but, as we try to understand the essence that it wanted to render us, somehow we tend to think a little bit outside the box and wonder what could be the reason behind all of this? All of us are familiar about the term Middle Childhood Years since all of us had undergone this stage, however, it seems that as we grow older there are so many questions that would continuously intercept in our minds with regards to this matter. But, being aware about the significance of this stage, will be easy to deal with people who are having a hard time understanding themselves.
