Definition and Character- teacher and administrators should create a positive middle school environment
The Need for Developmental Responsiveness- page 204 identifies some common changes experienced by 10-15 year olds and suggestions some things that you can do to provide a positive school environment that can respond to those changes.
A Sense of Community- Can help create a positive school environment
Rational for communities- students feel comfortable expressing similar and differing opinions, feel accepted by other members, listen to others and expect others to listen to them and feel a sense of collaboration and togetherness the contributes to the productivity of the community.
