With each different stage in education teachers take on a different burden of teaching these kids of different ages. All the way from preschool to college, each stage demanding something different from their teachers. From how to treat students to how to explain the ideas that the students that you are teaching and many more. Some of other things include how to punish the student when they are acting up and having patients with students who are slower learners. Out of all these different stages, the most difficult stage to teach is middle schoolers. Middle school are as the same says in the middle of growing up from the stage immaturity of elementary school to a more mature but not fully mature stage of high school.
Firstly, one of the reasons why middle schoolers are the most difficult to teach is because teachers aren’t trained specifically to teach middle schoolers. Middle school teachers are usually trained as elementary school general education teachers or high school teachers who learned to

This point is amplified by the fact that many states don’t require or offer education to become a middle school teacher. 46 states offer some sort of credential specifically for middle school teachers, however only 24 states require it (Gootman, 2007). That’s less than half of the states in the United States of America that require middle school teachers to have been trained to teach middle schoolers. This is another factor that contributes to making their job so difficult. Out of 13, 296 of New York City’s middle school teachers only 82 are certified as “middle school generalists” (Gootman, 2007). Such a small number makes it difficult to properly teach the middle schoolers what they need to learn.
