Music has always been a part of my life. Being surrounded by a family full of musicians and singers has helped me develop at talent and an interest from an early age! I began singing in church at age of three years old. My church group has travel along the east coast to numerous churches and often I would lead songs. I currently still sing in the choir of my church today as well. My sixth-grade year, I joined my middle school chorus. Although I came from my musical background, Chorus has taught me so much. In the first years of being in chorus, I learned how to read music and match my vocals with the notes that were being displayed. I learned the art of dynamics, tone and quality. I began to realize how essential these factors were to the message and emotional value of a music piece. In my middle school years, my fellow chorus members began to work hard as a unit and throughout the year we would succeed abundantly. In our three years of being a family, we were superior ratings each year from assessment judges. In addition, i had many …show more content…
I met a teacher by the name of Lydia Richards who would soon change my life and help me become a better vocalist. She has introduced me to multiple opportunities and events that helped me realize what i truly what i wanted in life. My chorus has traveled and competed against other choirs all around the United States coming from all over. We also participate in local events as well. In the last two years, we have hosted district auditions and assessments. With all the events going on we still managed to maintain our normal scheduled concerts and even score superior ratings in our assessments. My sophomore year, I became a part of the select women's choir. The following i was had auditioned and earned a spot in the varsity chorus. Nevertheless, In the year of 2018, I plan to audition for All State and work hard to earn a spot in the
