I also know my students needs and address them. Building positive relationships with students and getting to know them on a personal level allows them to see you care.
2. It may not be easy to work with all students, how do you incorporate those students?
Consistency and fairness are key. Kids need to know what is expected from all students. Once they see each child being treated fairly they are easier to work with.

Absenteeism is a problem. Lack of motivation, drive and focus/effort.

Finding time to listen. Asking if they are okay. Offering your assistance. Utilizing resources in school.

The school has been dealing with severe situation such as fights and a student bring a load gun to school. As all teachers believe a school is a place for students to feel safe from their home environment. Central Middle School has been experiencing some dilemmas which impacts student’s ability to feel safe and/or controlling repeated behaviors. As an extra-time teacher, I help the school Principal pass out letters to each classroom to inform the parents of a student bring a BB gun to school. This incident occur less than a month after a student fire a loaded gun in the school bathroom.
