Middle Childhood Observation

The Student I observe is name Eli Cornelius, Eli is ten years old. His hobbies are playing video games, ride his bike and playing football with his friends. He is in a big family, lives with his mother, step father, two sisters and two brothers. He goes by his father on the weekends and on holidays over there his family is father stepmother, two sisters, and grandparents. Eli has couple uncles, aunts and cousins that he sees throughout the year. His interests are becoming a great artist, learning karate, trying out new things, and even cooking with his mother. He says “cooking with his mother is their bonding time”. Eli uniqueness is that he loves helping people, he tutor some of the younger students in his school. He will always help …show more content…
I feel the Eli development is going or a little more mature. In the afterschool class they always have him thinking and giving the students little quick thinking games. Knowing that growth in middle childhood is less dramatic and sometimes slows down before puberty (). His height and weight looks normal to me. Eli seems very active to me. When outside Eli would never really sit down or pause. As it states in the textbook, that at the Middle Ages physical activity is the higher than any other age group. Their social status are important to some of the children, they need to be able to fit in with their peers to be comfortable. At the middle age group students are still learning themselves and learning how to work out their emotions. Some will get upset and fight other students. Others will be isolated by themselves. All this just shows me that becoming a teacher you play many roles in your career. You have been emotional connected to understand why some children have negative behavior. Also, have a welcoming classroom, to make children feel safe and secure. Having students to work in peers and groups will give them that confident to communicate, agree and disagree in a manageable way. The students will see themselves and peers as individuals with their own logical thinking and positive attitudes. If a person has the drive and understanding of being a teacher, they should get on
