During middle childhood both genders develop better stability, coordination, reflexes and strength that improves their physical skills. When it comes to gender differences in physical activity boys tend to be more advanced in gross motor skills, while girls perform better in fine motor skills and some gross motor skills like balance and foot movement. In U.S. culture, boys receive more encouragement toward sports than girls, by buying them sport equipment and enrolling them in a team. Their body begins to change in appearance with growth in height and weight at age 7 for girls and age 8 for boys. Both boys and girls growth can be affected due to the environment and genetic factor the child acquires. Some effects can be caused due to illness,
