Middle Aged Adults

At the age of 58 years old, K.R. is at the identified developmental stage of being a middle-aged adult. According to Piaget, a middle-aged adult is between the ages of 40 to 65 years old and this phase of life is characterized to be stable with the occurrence of consolidation (Berman, Snyder, Frandsen, 2016, p. 357). During this stage, middle-aged adults are able to recognize the changes that are occurring within their life as well as what may be influencing the changes to occur. Specific aspects such as physical, and health status are at risk for constant changes to occur rather than an individual’s psychosocial, cognitive, moral, and spiritual development (Berman et al., 2016, p. 357). As a middle-aged adult it is expected to experience a decline in physical changes that represent appearance, metabolism, gastrointestinal system, urinary system as well as other aspects (Berman et al., 2016, p. 358).
