Introduction: Middle adulthood is one of the crucial phases of life. Individual are more concerned for career and family. A middle aged crisis typically occurs between the ages of 45-65yrs is a transition of identity and self-confidence. The midlife crisis is considered as normative crisis on the basis of a psychoanalytic approach. Research consider normative crisis as a myth. This essay compares Dean’s, 49 years old man, middle life crisis with Erik Erikson theory (Generativity Vs Stagnation) of psychosocial development.
