A mid life crisis is an emotional crisis of identity that can occur in early middle aged people. But, what if it isn't just an emotional crisis of identity, but an actual lack of identity to begin with. Do we become a society of impulsively bought Harley Davidsons and Porsches? Or, do we simply neglect to realize we never had an identity to begin with. The media shapes and influences us our entire lives. It tells us what we want to wear, what shows we want to watch, what careers we want to pursue, and eventually we realize that who we are is is only who the media told us to become.
