Muffled screams wake me from my not so deep nap. Michonne and Carl are already breaking down the wooden boards barricading the doors. I rush to the scene and aim my gun ready to fire when they do manage to open the doors. Michonne hacks off the last bit of wood, allowing the doors to swing open. Carl shoots the first walker that dares to enter, but after a few shots from him and I, and couple swings from Michonne and her katana, plus no help whatsoever from Gabriel, we realized there's too many. Gabriel turned out not as helpless as I thought. He lead us to his office, with a hole in the floorboards leading to the outside of the church. "Takes you to the back of the church, go, take the little one and go. I'll catch up." Gabriel says as he holds his desk against the door with all his strength. Michonne dismounts Judith off her back, then hands it to Carl, while I gather what bags we have in the room. Carl demands he goes first, so I let him. I wait a few seconds and jump down, then crawl out behind him. There's a freshly killed walker on the ground when I reach the outside. I gather myself, and wait next to Carl for Michonne. She arrives quickly, but Gabriel hasn't. "He's coming." Michonne informs. Just as she says that, …show more content…
I rested my head on the spot above his heart. An uneasy feeling crept into me as I thought about going back into Atlanta, the city where it all started. The quiet ba-dom, ba-dom thumping calmed me. I watch as trees, electric poles and other objects that make up the near and far landscape pass by out the slightly dusty window. Carl wrapped his arm around me, pulling me closer to him. Shortly after, I felt his soft, lush lips land on my head. I close my eyes, like I was absorbing his kiss into me. My eyes stay shut as I decide to rest on the way to the hospital. It takes me a while from the excitement of the group being back together, but I do eventually drift
