Michelle Yates was born September 23, 1988 in San Antonio, Texas. She weighed 3lbs 15 oz at birth. She was born 6 weeks early. Even though she was small growing up, she never let anyone stop her from accomplishing anything she put her mind to. She was very competitive and loved to try new and crazy daring things. She loved to climb and soar from high places if permitted. Her love for heights has allowed her to ride some of the most bizarre and scariest roller coasters in the world no matter what the risk was. She always sought after the thrill of the ride vs. the scariness of it.

She was great at it and won many victories. It all began while she was a freshman in high school. She tried out for the weight class of 110 lbs.’ and made the team. At the wrestling matches you go for weigh in’s, which means they weigh you before any match can start to make sure you meet the weight class in which you will be participating. You are given the choice to weigh in, in your wrestling suit or naked. Michelle always weighed in in her suit. She always made her weight. Once weigh ins’ were done she began to get ready for her matches. She began her regular routine which included a prayer before every match and then she would began to stretch. Once that was done, she would walk over to the boards and see who she would be competing with. After her first few matches she began to set up techniques and challenging herself. Some of the challenges included pinning her competitor down within the first round. Another was to have the quickest take down. As the season was going on, she got better and faster. District meets came around and it was Michelle’s first year wrestling. She won her weight class for district. After district, she went to regionals. She went to weigh in and made her weight class.
