Michelle Williams Poetry Analysis

Composing song or poetry is a simple form of artistic expression. Through song and poem words are converted to form an image that expresses feelings and emotions only by a very small amount of words. These artists have done this because putting down words on paper generated by emotions going through one’s head is a way of re-living the past and remembering the overwhelming emotions they grapple with throughout their lives. Poet Michelle Williams states that “…. humans have always grappled with overwhelming emotions. Throughout history, we have expressed these emotions in many ways, such as through song, music, dance, art and poetry”. The vocal and instrumental master piece tells a story of letting go. “Broken bottles in the hotel lobby” represented the frustrations, and the alcohol that was consumed in order to cope with the sadness of this person and of how hard it’s to let go. This person is admitting how it's not easy to let go, and perhaps even admit the fear of not being able to be in love again. People often say it’s easy to move on, and through time it will be better, but the person knows it's not that easily done. The person is reminiscing of the days they've had with their love. The person has high hopes that perhaps they are able to return back to the days, but it's not possible. A person only needs to hear once to feel the roller coaster of emotions this song take them on as this artist had put everything they have into this song to show express his bag of emotions to world, each life is filled with how hard it to let go and lets the person hearing it go through these feelings with him. As to the end of the song the audience could hear the artist sense of relief as that’s all he had wanted, this song lets the world see how he had felt and how he has finally let go. This song is
