“A good tip is to change the light bulbs from florescent to LED, and add some color with a lamp or lampshade,” says Thomas. “A white lampshade can transform your whole room interjecting airiness.”
Refreshing for spring can be as cheap as rearranging the livingroom furniture making it feel like a whole, new space. Updating the pillows in lighter weight fabrics, like cotton and linen, with floral patterns or stripes, and in coral and blue, or teal and lime green makes the area lighter and bright. Thomas advises using light-weight fabric drapery too, plus switching to a roller shade of woven fabric that allows light to enter but reduces the glare.
