Michelle Carter: Guilty Or Not?

Improved Essays
Michelle Carter was found guilty June, 2014 of involuntary manslaughter. She texted her 18 year old boyfriend regarding the matter and which lead to his suicide. Yeah It is said it she forced this poor country kid to kill himself for two years, that means this insane person is out right now in 2018. But the big question is whether she is guilty or not?
Ms. Carter is guilty and should have had a longer sentence then two years, because she knew exactly what she was doing, she is not mentally challenged or ill, and yes she may be a byproduct of her surroundings but she must have some sort of control over what she is hitting send on. It's not like speaking where things can slip out. She has to type it and then hit send. She knew what she was doing

That she was just trying to do the right thing but did not realise where the conversation was flowing. And to those people: READ the texts between them. This example is one of many text segments they have. ¨Paul LeBlanc.. ¨Roy: I really don't know what I'm waiting for. . but I have everything lined up¨
¨Carter: No, you're not, Conrad. Last night was it. You keep pushing it off and you say you'll do it but u never do. It's always gonna be that way if u don't take action"
¨Carter: You're just making it harder on yourself by pushing it off, you just have to do it" (Leblanc, CNN.com).
I mean sure she more then likely is the one to force him to death, she could possibly be a byproduct of her surroundings and with that it ¨should be the mothers fault.¨(sittler) to that: say if you wanna play the blame finger why don't we pin it on your cousin's dogs mother for crying out loud There will be some (like her lawyer) claiming that her main problem is she is mentally ill and can not understand what she has done. That is what people are saying. But none of them know she is anorexic! She is not seeing things or hearing things or wanting to die or none of that. She just making herself puke because in her mind it makes her skinny but it actually makes her look as stupid as the idea that she make her boyfriend KILL

When she saw that there was a fire in another building she got up and went to take a look to see if the person was hurt. Since there was a fire in another building Mirabel interrupted her phone call to go to the window and check what was happening. Next, it is reasonable to suppose that Mirabel had a dizzy spell while at the window.…

She probably should have taken the professional’s advice. I believe going on Watch What Happens Lives so quickly after the sentencing was a good choice. They were able to get their messages out there, and Cohen was probably more fair to him than most interviewers would have been. Cohen has a personal relationship with them and clearly felt bad for Teresa. Other interviewers probably would have been much harsher.…

Maryland court of appeals ruled Wednesday that a lesbian woman once married to another woman had no right to visitation or custody of a young boy her former partner gave birth to before the couple wed. According to The Daily Record of Baltimore, the Court of Special Appeals upheld an earlier decision by the Washington County Circuit Court that ruled Michelle Conover does not have parental rights over Jaxon Conover. The child was born six months prior to Michelle Conover’s marriage to his birth mother, Brittany Conover and 17 months before their divorce. Judge Robert A. Zarnoch wrote in his opinion that current state law, governing the rights of same-sex couples is not clear and therefore distinguishes Michelle Conover as a “third party”…

It’s hard to believe this young mother only got 10 days in jail and two year probation. She was also sentenced to attend drug counseling, and a cooperating witness in a trial against Honea who at this time was out on bail during the incident. Hamm was also allowed to serve her time during weekends so it didn’t interfere with her and her son. It’s unbelievable that she got off lightly for allowing her son to be put though that and allowing her boyfriend to do that. Honea on the other hand didn’t get off so lightly, he got 36 to 60 months behind bars for intentional child abuse.…
