Michele Shultz is a guidance counselor employed through District 214, she specifically works in Rolling Meadows High School. In my high school career Ms Shultz was my counselor and without her help in finding resources, and being able to help in altering my busy school schedule I do not think I would be able to survive without her. Michele attended Florida International University for her M.A. and B.A. in Education. She received her Masters of Education and Counselor Education/School Counseling and Guidance Services from DePaul University. She also told me that she currently is an adjunct professor/counseling intern supervisor. She has had this role for 6 years and says that she has enjoyed every second of it she said that she really enjoys helping students in their journey of attaining a Masters degree. Right after getting out of college she began teaching at a public school in Miami, Florida. This was a Montessori type classroom experience where she taught children around the ages of 3-6 years old. She spoke about what she does in the school with such ease and love. I have always enjoyed going to a guidance counselor in order to make sure that I am on the right path but also because I knew that I had someone that would be there to listen to me if I had a problem. I am glad that Michele took a couple minutes out of her busy schedule in order to have a quick conversation with me, but what I found most shocking was the fact that she actually remembered who I was and was glad to hear from me. This was a huge compliment since Michele sees so many students not only in a given day but also through out the course of the school year.
