Michelangelo’s greatest artwork: The Creation of Adam.
Michelangelo is one of the most famous artist of the Italian renaissance, Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti simony was born on March 6, 1475 in Caprese Italy, son of Leonardo di Buonarrota Simoni and Francesca Neri. Since a young age Michelangelo was less interested in regular school than watch the painters and artist at near churches and plazas. His Father at a very early age realized that his son had any interest in the family financial business, so he decided to take the young Michelangelo to the Fashionable Florentine painter’s workshop, there Michelangelo learned the fresco technique.

Pope Julius II asked Michelangelo to switch from Sculpture to painting, his big next creation was the decoration of the Sistine Chapel. Michelangelo started working on the Sistine Chapel on 1508, the original plan was a piece of 12 apostles into 300 figures on the ceiling of the chapel, after the work had to be removed from the ceiling due to an infectious fungus, Michelangelo decided to fire all his assistants and worked by himself. He spent hours on his back and in very uncomfortable positions, he protected his work very jealously until finishing on October 31st, 1512.
The Sistine Chapel is a transcendent example of High Renaissance Art incorporating Christian figures with humanist features. It is one of the most famous painted in the whole world. The Chapel was built in 1479, and it was located next to the St. Peter’s Basilica and the Belvedere courtyard in the Vatican in Rome. “Originally, the Sistine Chapel’s vaulted ceiling was painted blue and covered with golden stars.
