For four years now, I have been apart of a traveling philanthropic church group that raises money for various Ukrainian causes that are relevant to the country’s current economic and political situation. Each year around Christmas time, we travel to several churches and perform a Christmas musical. We supply our own costumes and come with our own accordion player. After each performance, we ask for donations to our cause. Most recently, we raised about $2000 for orphans whose parents were victims to the Russian aggression in Ukraine.
I aspire to continue my philanthropic pursuits by creating my own nonprofit organization. This organization would offer mentoring programs to kids in order to give them the confidence and skills they need to succeed in today’s world. Mentors will also be able to do volunteer work with their mentees in order to teach the importance of giving back. The Michael Schodowski Marauder Scholarship will assist me in this goal by helping me fund my college education which will give me the skills and leadership experience that I will need to run such an
