The story of Michael Phelps Michael Phelps discovered swimming at a young age. He showed hesitation at first but soon after showed his immense talent for the sport. After years of training Michael Phelps went to the Olympics at the age of 15. I chose Michael Phelps because he showed you what there you can do. He trained and trained and became one of the best athlete to ever live. He shows kids an example of what you can do. If you want to do something must try. I always saw Michael Phelps in the OLympics. He would beat even the fastest of the fastest of people. It was hard to figure out how he was as fast as he was. It seemed like all he had to do was jump in the pool. He had the usual childhood, when he was scared of the one this he would grow up to be amazing at. Growing up with his parent divorced in a house with his mom and three sisters. He didn’t have the “normal” life. He didn’t have the father figure most kids had. But then he saw Tom Mucklow and Tom Dolan competing and he decided he wanted to be like them. Winning , competing, and working hard. His crossing the threshold was the minute he began to competitively swim and train to go to the Olympics. The moment he began the training with his mentor figure and coach Bob Bowman. He had a special talent and, Bob Bowman saw that right away. He had a special weapon, his swimming. He used his swimming to help and inspire people to do what people think cant be done. Do the things never thought to be possible. Michael Phelps also went through his road of trials. First he had to get past the fear he had of putting his head under/in the water. Next, he had to figure out how to become an Olympian while studying sports management and marketing. Finally, he had to figure out how to continue swimming professionally and competitively with a kid and a girlfriend at home. His son(Boomer) and girlfriend/wife(Nicole) were his love interests. He wanted to prove to his son, like he did all other kids, that you never stop working hard to do what you want. His wife was is huge love interest though. He wanted at life with her, but at the same time he had to train. Yet decided to spend the rest of his life with her. However, he also had his dark point or abyss in his life like most other heroes did. He had a series of DUIs starting in 2014. But, life most heros, he came back and trained to come out of retirement and g to the 2016 Olympics. His ultimate boon was when he had his son, fiance, 23 medals, 5 olympics, to become the most decorated olympian ever to go through the olympics. He has his crossing of two worlds two. This was
