The Blind Side shows the readers multiple times throughout the story that, life has its ups and down, but you always have to stay positive. The Blind Side is a football story about Michael Oher. His life was challenging, but extremely successful. Throughout his life, he was homeless and wandered the streets at night until the Tuohys adopted him into their luxurious home. Now, Michael is a part of their family of four. He's an all star football player for his school, and eventually gets recruited to the University of Mississippi thanks to his tutor Miss Sue, who made him eligible to go to college due to grades. As his football career continued, his bond with his new family the Tuohys grew. After college, Michael got drafted to the Baltimore …show more content…
The two ways to characterize him would be, how he has a ton of energy and how he is very determined in everything he does. SJ shows extreme amounts of energy in just about everything he does. When SJ is with Michael, he always wants to go do something, such as getting a new video game or going through the football playbook: “SJ had sat down with him for six hours or so and reviewed the plays.”(Lewis). Also, when a college coach would visits Michael, SJ would always be right up in there business asking what's in it for him. Although Sj has extreme amounts of energy, he is also very determined in what he does. Throughout the story he is always doing his very best to train Michael for football season. The ways he has him train is very intense with sit-ups, push-ups, and lots of running with little to no breaks. Also,during football season, Sj is always talking to the coaches about what could go better with Michael's game. He notices what he is doing wrong from watching all of the film he takes at practises and games. WIthout Sj's determination on Making Michael a better football player, he definitely wouldn't be as good as he is today. After high school, Michael played college football at Ole Miss as an offence of tackle, then eventually gets drafted to the NFL In the NFL Michael plays for the Baltimore Ravens. Without SJ’s energy and determination, Michael wouldn't be the person he is today.

After reading The Blind Side, by Michael Lewis, it clearly shows how Michael Oher had his ups and downs in life, but always had his head held high. His life definitely wasn't what anyone would call normal, and not the life anyone would like to live. Thanks to the Tuohys they made a huge impact on Michaels life for the
