Oher said “People like to talk about “Cinderella stories” but Cinderella didn’t get her happy ending without lifting a finger” (Oher 189). Oher Is saying that he he never gave up, tried hard, and didn’t let his early life stop his dreams . he also recalls, “Draft day was like a dream for me” “I had had dreams about that moment coming years before dreaming about having my name called and waiting for that moment”, (Oher 182), For the 23rd pick of 2009 draft, he heard “The Baltimore Ravens select Michael Oher from University of Mississippi”. This meant that Michael Oher’s new team was the Baltimore Ravens (washingtonpost.com). His dream of playing in the NFL became a reality.
Michael Oher’s career has continued to this day, and he continues to inspire people with his story. Michael is now 29 and plays for the Carolina Panthers.
