Michael Newdow In God We Trust Analysis

Michael Newdow is an atheist activist. He has been pushing to get "In God We Trust" removed from money. He has even filed a lawsuit in the United States federal court. Newdow is a doctor and lawyer. He has stated that having "In God We Trust" on money violates the separation of church and state. The complaint was filed on behalf of 41 people. The Northern Ohio Freethought Society also filed a complaint.

The complaint filed was 112 pages long. It claims that having "In God We Trust" gives Christians an unfair advantage over atheists. He also stated that the phrase perpetuates an anti-atheist bias. This is not the first time that Newdow has pushed to get "In God We Trust" removed from the money. Both Newdow and The Freedom From Religion Foundation
