Title –
Michael Moore is able to effectively convince his audience that capitalism is having a negative effect on America through his use of ethos, pathos, and logos. Through Michael Moore’s use of graphs and statistics, he is able to appeal to the viewer and tell them that Capitalism isn’t working for the United States. Moore points out that “Millions of people were thrown out of work, and the remaining workers were told to work twice as hard. But Wages for working people remained frozen.” With the use of logic Moore is able to show the viewer that what was happening was real. Moore is able to back up his argument with statistics which makes the viewer think that he has a valid argument. He also, in conjunction with statistics, uses graphs. These graphs help the viewer visualize the statistics he discussed, and makes the viewer see how ridiculous the productivity increase was without more than a one percent increase in wages, which is just keeping in line with inflation. …show more content…
Moore has informed us that “Assembly-line workers [at the co-op] earn over $65,000 a year” (1:01:10). Using the co-op as an example Moore is able to point out the fact that a company that doesn’t accept the traditional capitalist method is allowing its workers to be paid better than many other people fining a job for the first time. When someone hears that you can make over $65,000 as an assembly-line worker it makes them want to go and get a job there, especially when on top of that, you are technically an owner of the company and you get a vote in every decision made in the
