Michael Kors, born Karl Anderson Jr. is a famous fashion designer who was known for making Michelle Obama’s dress and for judging the television show Project Runaway. Kors was born August of 1959 in New York and grew up into the model industry and several national campaigns for products such as toilet paper and Lucky Charms cereal. His name was changed at the tender age of five after his mother remarried a business man by the name of Bill Kors. Michael mom also gave him the chose to choose his new first name on top of the change of a last name. At such a young age Kors was addicted to the fashion scene so much that his own mother let him design her wedding dress even though that marriage itself didn’t last but he quoted, “The marriage didn’t last, [but] the pictures are timeless.” He spent many years looking at fashion magazines, such as Vogue, to get together as much knowledge about fashion as he could which eventually lead him into moving to New York …show more content…
When he was 23, he got the fashion editor of Vogue to view his collection and soon he had celebrity fans. After a minor setback, he relaunched his fashion line to a low-priced line. He continued to later expand the brand to menswear, accessories and perfume. In 2004, he was asked to be a judge to the show Project Runway and though that the show wouldn’t bloom off like it did and after eight year, he announced his retirement from the show. He earned many rewards by the time he decided to retire from the blooming show of Project Runway. Lance La Pere, the vice president of Michael Kor’s Design, gained this position in August of 2011 and married the lovely Michael Kors weeks after Gay Marriage became legal.
