Michael Kearney is the youngest American to attend college. At the young and impressionable age of 11, Michael graduated from the University of California-Santa Cruz in 1989. Kearney was first homeschooled by his parents, who enrolled him in college at age ten in an attempt to bring some "normalcy" into his life. By most social standards Kearney is still considered a child but yet he is doing quite adult things. That sparks the question, at what point does one stop being a child and become an adult? Personally, I don't know if it was a particular event or maybe it was slow and gradual.
