Therefore, I starting my journey to become a films maker in the real world with real short films. However I cant take all the credit for just one day being interested in watching funny and crazy movies whenever I wanted. Kahn, He started working in the mail room in New York and then slowly one promotion at a time he moved up to becoming a apprentice. After he did that for a while he finally advanced to assistant editor of a classic television show series called Hogan’s Heroes. He got the attention of many people as he helped work on more TV shows until they put him on his film called Rage. Kahn had one problem that he was going to have to work on to succeed with his movie work he had to battle with being deprived encouragement. Bravery struck and he took this problem and solved it by suggesting ideas that he had which made him feel more comfortable with the people. This made him discover that he does have a gift and can use it to change the film industry. From this point on he would bring up ideas and tell the director “I wasn’t intimidated anymore by the film or the directors” (Dove, 1994). I had no sense, no feel for it at all” (Dove, 1994). He work with it and assisted others and still didn’t have a feel for it. He started editing Hogan’s Heroes for six years and had no luck with trying to like editing better “I figured out what the old editors used to say:” the film will tell you what to do’ wasn’t necessarily valid.” (Dove, 1994). This just frustrated Kahn when “Danny literally Pushed Michael into editing scenes and re-editing them” (Dove, 1994). Then when Kahn realized that he could bend the film and use it how he liked or change it he discovered that this was not so bad. Therefore Kahn ,Started to feel passionate about editing (Dove, 1994). He used this to his advantage so that he could change it but in the end when he showed to the directors they loved it and wanted him to do more films for them. He “received numerous awards and nominations” (Dove, 1994). Michael Kahn compares to me because he works the way I do for example, when he works on videos he goes with the video and not the people in the video. Also he knows that the best way to get the job done is to do it yourself which is what I do everyday will my job as a technology specialist. These are just some of the reasons that I chose to have Michael Kahn as my role model for this project so that I can show another person that can relate to me. I hope to meet Michael someday I think we

Movie editing is defined as “the art, technique, and practice of assembling shots into a coherent sequence” on Wikipedia. While actors and directors gain fame and fortune from feature films, the editors get little recognition for their hard work that makes movie exciting. Without these editors, movies would be a dull, never-ending scene with a lot dead space. Editors are able to craft a film to evoke any emotions that they want, simply by changing the timing of the shot. Film editing is almost as old as film itself, the innovators of editing used their art to transform films from a boring set of moving pictures into an exciting story telling medium.…
