The message/life lesson the author is trying to send the reader is to never give up on your dreams, no matter how much you failed at it. If you really want to succeed you will keep pushing until you have gotten what you wanted. If you keep that mindset you will be successful. Michael Jordan wasn’t perfect he has had a few failures. It’s stated in the book that MJ has been cut from his high school “Laney High’s” team. But in his 1978-79 season it was a great one for Michael Jordan, he enjoyed extensive play time and popularity. As the unquestioned star player, he led his teammates to a series of wins.
“Jordan was the first player at every practice and the last to leave, the hardest-working NBA practice player any of them had ever seen.” (152)
