Michael Jeffrey Jordan also known as MJ, was born February 17,1963, in Brooklyn, New York. His ability to jump high and far, and winning dunk contests, earned him the nickname "Air Jordan.'' During his first season in the NBA, Jordan averaged 28 points on 51% shooting. Jordan led the league in scoring again in the 1987–88 season, averaging 35 points on 53% shooting and won his first league MVP Award. He was also named the Defensive Player of the Year, as he had averaged 2 blocks and a league high of 3 steals per game. Michael Jordan was one of the best basketball players who played the sport.
