Today Michael Jordan is known as one the greatest basketball players to ever play the game. When he first started playing the game it wasn’t as easy as you think it would be. When he first tried out for the high school basketball team he was cut. Jordan’s sophomore year he was only 5’8 but eventually grew to 6’3 before his junior year. After high school the all American went on to play at the University of North Carolina. As a freshman in college he played in the shadows of other players until the NCAA championship where he hit a shot with 18 seconds left to put them up one and go on to be the game winning shot. As a sophomore he was named the college player of the year, and then again as a junior then also won the Naismith and Wooden awards. After his junior year he went on to be the 3rd pick in the NBA draft in 1984 ("The Sports Archives &ndash"). …show more content…
Some of his biggest accomplishments during his career are 6 time NBA champ, MVP in 88,91,92,96, and 98, 10 time NBA 2nd team Defensive player of the year in 88, 9 time all defensive first team , rookie of the year 85, 14 time all star, all star MVP in 88, 96, 98, and Olympic gold medalist in 84 and 92.
