There are many songs, past and present that relate to the study of human behavior in society, also known as sociology. The “Man in the Mirror” is a well-known song by Michael Jackson which was released in 1987 on the album “Bad”, a song that I am able to identify with that contains many parts of sociology.
I chose the “Man in the Mirror” by Michael Jackson, because it is a song I believe can be connected to different themes and topics of sociology that we have discussed in class; it is well rounded that is appropriate for the subject content.

Michael Jackson first started his professional music career with his older brothers: Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon; they were known as the Jackson 5 and were a very popular group in the 1960s. With the downfall in the economy, the cost of living began to rise; causing several people to lose their homes and unfortunately many fell upon hard times and became homeless.
