Rhetorical Strategies in Jackson’s and Rotblit’s Song Lyrics Michael Jackson and Yaakov Rotblit are two amazing song writers who have contributed so much to the society and brought out many messages through their compositions. Michael Jackson was the King of Pop as most of his songs achieved many awards, therefore he was one of the most-influential men in the world. He has inspired thousands of people around the globe through his songs, one such song is “Heal the World”. He was a fantastic, skillful songwriter, although his life was full of controversial things and he was well-known as a scandalous artist. Nevertheless, his works were enjoyable enough to make people love him. Most people did not care about how peculiar his personality was because his songs were extremely touching and inspiring. One of his popular songs, “Heal The World” was arranged with a beautiful arrangement of words. Yaakov Rotblit was only a song writer and not a singer himself, his song “Shir Lasholom” was sung by two other singers by the name of Miri Aloni and Kanachal Lehakat. Both “Heal the World” by Michael Jackson and “Shir LaShoalom” by Yaakov Rotblit focus on the extrinsic elements and theme, personification, pathos, figurative language and imagery as the intrinsic elements. A personification is an attribution of human characteristics or a nature of a person to something that is nonhuman. It is the representation of a figure that is intended to represent an abstract quality. Personification, figurative language can be found in the phrase “there’s a love that cannot lie” line 28.
