Michael Huckabee's Short Story: The Haunted House

Improved Essays
It was a dark, gloomy, summer evening, rain was in the forecast. I was on my usual bike strolls through the woods as I heard screams of women echoing through the mysterious forest. I went off my usually route to go check out what happened. The forest had trees the size of the Eiffel Tower and I started hearing creepy owl noises. As I got deeper and deeper to the center of the woods the noise intensified. I felt like I was being watched. I investigated the areas and looked for signs of abductions. Everything seemed fine, no branches were broken, there weren’t any signs of struggles and therefore I left and carried back on my bike ride. As I was leaving the forest I saw three cops approach me. They asked me, what I was doing in the forest at this hour. They heard complains about a noise and were called in. I told them I heard cries for help and I went to investigate. The cops told me that’s our job and you should be more careful. They told me that this forest is where a man named Michael Huckabee was brutally killed and that his ghost haunts whoever enters this forest. As I was explaining my story to the cops, another man approaches us and says this was the culprit to your screams. I looked at the boys that the cop caught. They were in their mid-teens, white, blond haired kids. …show more content…
This was a warning sign but, I still went out. I ran in the pouring rain and gust slapping my face to the place where I first heard the screams. The trees were moving all over the place and branches were falling on the ground. I heard a loud strike of thunder hit the tree and tree collapsed two feet away from me. My heart started beating and I took my flashlight out of my bag and I still went deeper inside the forest. I stumbled upon a tree branch laying on the ground and fell face forth, muddy rain was on my broken glasses. As I attempt to get up I hear the scream

It often amazes me that people have a difficult time with the concept that Bigfoot is a human hybrid. You honestly expect a humanoid creature that is over seven feet tall, covered in hair, that has abilities that are essentially supernatural, that possesses superhuman strength, that can live so close to civilization, yet remain almost completely hidden from man, and that possesses an extremely high intellect to have “normal” DNA!? I would expect it to have strange and unexplainable DNA consistent with the findings of the Sasquatch Genome Study. The following statements will disturb many in the “Bigfoot Research Community” and the general public at large.…

The sky is blue, morning blue, when the sun is just rising, at about 6 o’clock. The chilly Autumn morning made me feel safe as I peered out the dew lined window. Leaves blew across the street, yet not too many because it's early in the season. Its nice to look out, seeing the smoke come out of the chimneys from the warm homes where everyone is asleep this sunday morning. Then out of the corner of my eye, amongst the beautiful fall scenery and warm houses was a guy, creeping out the back mill door.…

We had been planning on going to this old abandoned house for some time, and now we were finally going to see if it was truly haunted or not. Well, as we walked I had noticed a blueish, greenish, truck driving down the silent back road. We really didn’t pay much attention until it started to get creepy and the truck started following us. By the time we had noticed we were already close to the house and we decided to dart into the woods, to a tree that we could climb and see what was going from. Our hearts were pounding from the anxiety, and I had noticed both of us had our hands clenched around our pocket knives that were probably a little too big to be carrying around in public.…
