Event Horizon
Summary
Michael Colombini, only 6 years of age, had a brain surgery for his benign tumor. Although his brain surgery was successful, he died in accident at the hospital. When Michael was having MRI scan after the surgery at Westchester Medical Center, he was in sedated state. Therefore, he needed to have supplementary oxygen piped to him while the scans were under way. Since no object containing iron or anything magnetic is allowed in MRI room, two large oxygen cylinders were located in the different room. There was an anesthesiologist in the MRI room administering the sedative to Michael. After some time both the MRI scan and flow of oxygen has started, anesthesiologist noticed that something was wrong. The oxygen tank was empty. He needed to tell about the situation to the technologist at the same time he has to stay with the patient, and there was no microphone or phone in the MRI room to talk to the technologists. The only way was he needed to open the door and yell to the technologists about the issue. Meanwhile two technicians were trying to fill the oxygen tank, the room to the MRI room remained open.

He painted the sign as exactly same as all other original signs on the road. He not only painted the sign, but also installed it by himself. Ankrom worked like professional construction company or state employee. This was the true art that benefited public. After the installation, the traffic seemed to flow better leading to the new sign direction. Interestingly no one noticed this illegal sign until a friend had spilled the information to the press. Caltrans said that the sign was made and installed to perfection and it would be left in place. No charges would be filed against Richard Ankrom for his illegal sign

I would check the patient’s arm band, check the room for clutters, upper side rails up x2, and the call light and belongings within patient’s reach. I would use an open-ended questions communication technique and to avoid medical terminology words. As mentioned by Jarvis (2012, p.33), “This question encourages the person to respond in paragraphs and to give a spontaneous account in any order chosen.” Using open-ended…
