Just imagine two teenage boys walking down a street when a cop pulls up behind them and yells at them to get out of the street. The police then opens the door and starts fighting one of the boys, and then a gunshot is fired and the boy runs away from the police. He shoots the boy in the back and the boy turns around with his hands in the air, surrendering as he screams, “I don’t have a gun, stop shooting!” (Pearce). The policeman doesn’t hesitate and he fires many more bullets until the boy is face down in the street, dead. This boy was an African American with the name Michael Brown. Mishaps like this happen all the time to black people just because of their skin color and it’s unjust. African American’s get treated so much different than white people and most of the time, these people do not deserve it. These people are segregated, killed, and tortured because of their skin color and it’s not right and against the USA laws (Pearce). …show more content…
It also doesn’t matter the age of the how old or young the person or if it was in the 1980’s or in today’s society. For example, Ruby Bridges and the little rock nine struggled with segregation when they were just in grade school. Ruby and the little rock nine were the first black students to ever attend an all white school, trying to start integration or segregation. People would scream things like, “Two, Four, Six, Eight… We ain’t gonna integrate!” (Little Rock Nine) to the student as they walked up to the school. They had to have help from the military to keep them safe because they were scared of what the white people would do in order to stop segregation. The Declaration of Independence says that all men are to be created equal. The people that were trying to stop segregation and being racist are breaking that law, yet they don’t get punished for
