Micah Taylor's Rooms

Memories and life events that just disappear, supernatural adventures, a touch of romance, and even spiritually moving experiences. What more could you ask for in a book? Throughout the book you get to go through the life of Micah Taylor and his abnormal adventures in his Cannon Beach house with its many strange rooms. In Rooms, you learn how Micah is able to break the chains of his life and fully experience it with the love that Jesus has given him. In Rooms, Micah has to make the difficult choice between his two very different lives. In Seattle, he has everything he has ever dreamed of: fame, fortune, a company of his own. But in Seattle, he loses his relationship with the Lord. He also doesn’t have two of closest friends (Sarah and Rick) …show more content…
It has lots of bible verses, like Matthew 13:44-46 (“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.” - Bible Gateway), that give relatable examples to our life now. In Matthew 13:44-46, it shows that Jesus is worth giving up everything (meaning old habits, bad memories, the things that please you in life, and even physical items) just like Micah did literally. Another one is Matthew 16:25-26 (“For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?” - Bible Gateway). In The Message version of the Bible, it says, “You’re not in the driver’s seat; I am. Don’t run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I’ll show you how.” It really shows you that you just need to put your trust in Jesus and let him take the reigns in your life. On the other hand, Rooms also shows us that our biggest enemy is the devil and can often be confused as our own voice. But with the power of Christ we can defeat him and will be able to accept the full love of Christ. A lot of these things can help growing Christians really understand what a relationship with God is

The way authors write books can make us feel certain emotions towards the events and characters in the story. The book Early Sunday Morning: The Pearl Harbor Diary of Amber Billows by Barry Denenberg had me almost in tears while I learned a lot about history. The facts that Barry Denenberg taught me are historically accurate on the event Pearl Harbor and you can tell that he did his research while writing. I enjoyed the book, Early Sunday Morning; The Pearl Harbor Diary of Amber Billows by Barry Denenberg, for a couple of reasons. This book is about Amber Billows moving to Oahu, Hawaii.…

I enjoyed reading Unbroken, a book that showed preservation, redemption, and admiration all in one character. Throughout the book, Laura Hillenbrand displayed how a human could overcome grueling struggles, but she also conveyed how traumatizing experiences such as a death of a loved friend or receiving beatings from a ruthless prison guard can scar a person’s mind for a long time through the use of symbols. One of the symbols that Unbroken portrayed is alcohol. Many people who have anxiety and stress use drugs as a way to avoid reality. Similarly, Louis drank alcohol which brought him “a pleasant numbness” from his horrible memories from the Japanese prisons (Hillenbrand 347).…

It says in the book of acts that "and they said, believe on the lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, And thy house" (act 16:31, KJV). Looking back on my passed five years of knowing Jesus I would describe it as a rollercoaster ride. Back in sixith grade I was going through a transition from Crosswalk to Hang time, Elementary School to middle school, and ultimately finding who I was and knowing Jesus. It was my 2011 Hangtime Winter Whiteout when I accepted Jesus into my life. Every year we do this thing called " Cry Night " that Winter Whiteout in particular we watched clips from "The Passion of Christ " and it was to the song " How He Loves " by David Crowder.…

"Successfully giving that Native American perspective for this part of the history, this book doesn't stop at educating its readers, but it also makes them feel amazed, surprised, shocked, uneasy, painful and so many emotions. This may be one of the most important books one can encounter, not only because it teaches exactly how America expanded west, but because the whole message talks about the true grim nature in so many important events of human history, and most of us are unaware of this dark tone in our past. Dee Brown's writing style can't be described without using the word magnificent. The way this book takes us to such a travel in the past and tells us such a heartbreaking story but also gives us this need to keep on reading; even…
