Trust is easy to gain but hard to manage and maintain. Schools with trust issues, suffer from lack of management, discipline, budget deficit, differences regarding curricula, teaching practices and policy making. Trust needs to be present in the form of integrity. Teachers and administration need to demonstrate a commitment. It is the responsibility of the administration to set the stage for developing trusting relationships between teachers, other staff, students and parents. By trusting one another, they will develop an interest in the well being of others. The school needs to be willing to listen to what others have to say, solve problems and magnify feelings of unity amongst the administrators, teachers, other personnel and students. Teachers should be trusted in terms of teaching and doing what they believe is best for the student’s education. They need to feel supported by the administration and not feel vulnerable. Trust is also in terms of providing the basic resources to teachers, such as books and supplementary materials, within a timely manner. A principal should be willing to remove incompetent teachers with a proper warning, so that she or he does not undermine his or her trust with other staff members. It consists of aiming for success and maintaining reasonableness. It is important to select the right strategies when implementing change and understanding the consequences each may hold. As an administrator, one needs to know of their employee’s strengths, weaknesses and capabilities. It is important to not test their patience and put them under excessive stress which is beyond their level of patience. When assigning roles or tasks to teachers let them be in charge of their student’s performance and learning outcomes. They can be assigned the task of integrating Language or Literature with other subjects, in order to make it easier for students to understand, where and in what subject their interest lays the most. It is up to the teacher how to cater his/her student’s educational needs through different approaches and methods. Students can easily be drawn towards any path, right or wrong. It is a teacher who can grasp their interest and motivate them to learn. However, such a strategy can place a lot of burden on the teacher, demanding a lot of time and effort to implement subject-integrative teaching. Due to this heavy demand, teachers often give up and this results in a loss of administrative management. This is where collaborative inquiry comes in.
