Miami Heat Lockout Summary

Decent Essays
In July of 2011 the NBA announced there would be another lockout. After the first few weeks of the season were canceled, the players and owners made a collective bargaining agreement, which set up a shortened 66 game season. After the shortened season, the Miami Heat came back to the Finals looking for redemption with a fully fused core which consisted of Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh against Oklahoma City's young core of Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and James Harden. The Heat went on to beat the Thunder in 5 games, winning their second NBA title in 6 years. Their dominance carried into the next season, which ended with a win over the San Antonio Spurs in the 2013 NBA Finals which spawned a mini dynasty which was the Miami Heat.
