Introduction
Understanding and managing culture is a crucial task and also challenging for any organization. Organizational Culture Inventory (OCI) is the most widely used tool for measuring organizational culture. It measures the current operating culture of an organization in terms of the behaviors that members believe are required to “fit in” and meet expectations. The results are plotted on the Human Synergistic Circumplex to show Aggressive/Defensive norms within the organization.

However, the organization’s primary style fell under the aggressive/defensive norm. Competitive style is one in which winning is valued and members are rewarded for outperforming one another. This I can see with the way our marketing and administrative departments work. They are paid a bonus for exceeding the census and revenue that has been set. This encourages some aggressiveness to meeting and exceeding the target so they can get rewarded. As a facility, we are always competing to outshine other like facilities. This is done by providing better customer service than everyone else. The rewards are seen by the rating, increased census and also annual pay increase. The current Regional Vice President is competitive in nature. She ranks every performance against all the other facilities. That creates competition as no one wants to be ranked
