Today, class was all about values, and the Meyers-Briggs test results. Value are what you stand for in life and what drives you. Everyone has different values in their life. Those values can be looked at as seeds. The seeds you choose to water will get bigger and be your main values. The seeds that you never water probably aren’t going to be as important. If you want to be more empathetic, you water that seed more. If you want to be better at medical coding, you water that seed more. There’s always going to be other seeds that seem to need watering too, but those can be viewed as temptations. You need to be aware what seeds you’re watering and what seeds can be watered more. Her name is Nichole Gilbertson. She works in the counseling center at Mt. Hood. First, she had us do a self-assessment of our personality traits to get a four letter code. Then, she handed out our scores to see if we matched the self-assessment we did. Then, she covered the four preference scales that make up the 4 letter code. Extraversion and introversion, sensing and intuition, thinking and feeling, and judging and perceiving. Each person will test in one or the other of all four of those categories. These categories determine personality type or a 4 letter code. Nicole said, most people often have the same traits or code throughout their life. However, how certain and clear each trait is may depend on the day, or life’s issues. The world is made up of both introverts and extrovert, and they’re on very different ends of the spectrum. Sometimes people can feel stressed out when working with a different personality type because that person does things differently. However, we need both to have a successful balance in life. Opposites attract because other people can compensate for what the other person is lacking. If we can understand the other person, and that they’re just different, opposites can work amazing
