Extraversion From the results of the Meyers-Briggs Personality test it stated that I was “moderately more preferable to being an extrovert than being an introvert by a margin of 33%” (Jung Typology Test; http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp, 1998). The people who demonstrate personalities of being an extravert are more inclined to be dealing with the world on the outside of their persona than dealing with the world inside their being, or an introvert. In my earlier years I was rather a shy person; kept to myself, my family and my close circle of friends. Acknowledging the differences in personalities, a leader can assist the development of his co-workers and subordinates to be more productive in their work. Any conflicts arising between co-workers, a leader has insight on the conflicting parties and can come up with a reasonable solution that will tend to both their needs. If a worker has trouble in productivity, a leader can study the preferences of their personality, so he or she may have an idea of how to best train that employee. Think of the term of Typewatching, which is “the constructive response to the inevitable name calling in the workplace” (Kroeger, Otto; Thuesen, Janet M.; Rutledge, Hile; Type Talk At Work: How the 16 Personality Types Determine Your Success on The Job; pg 4-5; 2002; Dell Publishing).
