Mexico City, like other megacities in Latin America, faces several major environmental problems that have not just local but regional and global implications. One of the prominent issues that plague Mexico City is the pollution of water. Therefore with the rapid population growth, insufficient sanitation, urbanization, and inefficient treatment of waste water or lack of management of the water resources, the water pollution continues to rise each year. Due to the unclean water there have been reported harmful consequences to humans and the environment.
