The Mexican Revolution had a less radical conclusion than the Russian
Revolution even though both had radical combatants advocating dramatic social change and land reform in the name of greater equality. The Russian revolution, in 1917, succeeded because of the time period which happened, the location, and the discipline of Lenin’s army. On the contrary, the Mexican revolution did not have such a radical effect because of its location, the distance between the two revolutionary groups, and the untrained army. Since the party members were so disciplined, Lenin made Leon Trotsky, a military genius, the war commissioner of the red army, a highly trained and disciplined army, who took control of the major cities in Russia(Browne Cortel 78). The Mexican revolution started in 1910 which was before before World War One even started, which meant other countries could intervene much easier than the Russian Revolution. The Untied States and other countries took advantage of Mexico and their week government by stealing millions of dollars of their natural resources, so a revolution that would possibly cause them to lose free natural resource was not in their best interest. The location of Mexico was also very accessible to outside countries. Unlike the Russian Revolution, the countries were able to send troops without any resistance and support the
