One characteristic that reflects cultural values is popular sayings. The sayings may or may not have literacy because they simply translate the values orally to everybody. Popular sayings are used to condense timeless lessons to help recall phrases that are of importance. Experiences are not quite remembered, but with the help of dichos, experiencing the same things are likely in other times and other places which will leave people with messages to guide them.
