Mexican Culture Vs. Collectivist Culture

The Mexican culture which is both collectivistic and masculinity has a higher peak of aggression. These two values may suggest that “Mexican young adults indicate that individuals from Mexico—presumably a relatively collectivist culture—may engage in somewhat more violent acts” (). This study suggests that Mexican adult has more tendency to violence since in collectivist cultures its seems more acceptable of violence. Mexican men are more violent than women since collectivistic “particularly true among men, who commit far more violent acts than women” (). Men in Mexican culture must show their masculinity towards other and enforce their views on others. This culture sees aggression as a standard view for men to show aggression towards other men but not towards women since demonstrates the weakness of the men. This view of aggression in this culture is standard, but now they are devolving towards this norm because of the increase of violence and death in the country. …show more content…
Homicide is considering an act of aggression towards another but its view in different in the views of collectivistic and individualistic. In a collectivistic culture, they see murder as an act of aggression, but they have a different view of it because it is protecting once honor or an act of aggression towards other. They show empathy towards both occasions of homicide since they care about others (). In the other hand, the individualistic values also see murder as an act of aggression, but it's seen as a negative and evil act in this benefits
