For example if any German or anyone from any other ethnicity migrated to the United States like Amy’s family did legally. They would have a much better opportunity and ability to be able to live out the American dream then any hispanic family in the U.S would ever have due to the ethnicity. It is a proven fact that certain race in this country are valued different than others and all due to the way people label others. Therefore the stigma that Mexican people are bad or different for any reason hurts in this circumstance Amy and her family. The fact that her family is hispanic automatically takes certain job opportunities away from both her parents and giving them to people of other ethnicity. This is an ongoing trend in the U.S because Mexican or African American families aren’t given the same choices or opportunities. Others receive and for this reason is why certain groups of people seem to never escape poverty in this culture. But yet the media and all the higher ranked people still wanna put it on the people. At a young age my family faced some of the similar changes being very hard to offered food as well many of the other living expenses. While still trying to give me and my siblings the best child hood and give us whatever was needed. I know for my father and mother it was hard for them to get a job while trying to raise there kids and barely making ends meet. The things that Amy seems to encountered are by no means anything easy but she certainly isn't the only one going through them there is many families who have to face this struggle at times and some unfortunately never get out of it. I am certainly blessed and thank my parents everyday for the life they gave me and the opportunity for me to be attending college and trying to pursue my dream each day.
