Answer these questions: What are the benefits of having all measurements in metric rather than in a combination of standard and metric? There are many benefits to working in metric rather than standard measure. Currently the United States is the only industrialized nation that does not use the metric system. Thus, we would be in compliance with the rest of the world. Also, it is very easy to make conversions in the metric system, you simply move the decimal point to the right or to the left. In addition, metric measure is used in the science and medical field universally. (Source: http://milebehind.wordpress.com (Links to an external site.)) Both: Currently in the grocery store you will see items in both conversions such as apple juice, 64oz/1.89liters, wine bottles are in liters and ounces, and cereal boxes have metric and standard measures on them. Why is the government interested in changing to the metric system? The government is interested in changing to the metric system because it would make commerce and communication easier with the world community. For instance, US companies will be able to streamline their operations because they won't have to supply both measurement systems on their products that are destined for local, domestic and foreign consumers. Their products would be able to be manufactured to the same metric specifications and the overlapping measurement systems would be eliminated. (Source: What would your plan be to convert the United States to the metric system? I would start in the elementary schools indoctrinating young students to think exclusively in metric measurements. There is already a movement in American society toward the metric system. For example, all packaged products in the grocery store are labeled in metric and standard

    b. When measuring the resistance value with the Avo 8, possible reasons for varience include a parallax error (not looking at the reading from directly above the meter), a reading error due to less divisions when measuring resistance, or the device not being properly zeroed. When measuring current, there are also fewer division, parallax is still a potential issue, and finally, incorrect zeroing of the meter. Voltage has an additional error, the loading of the meter itself. Alongside this issue, there is also parallax, zero, and accuracy/divisions.…

Rounding Data When data is gathered and calculated, the final information presented tends to be rounded. On some occasions it may be necessary to round data, especially when rounding non-integer vales to integer values for simplicity and statistical representation. An example of this would be at the end of the calculations in sample weighting, the fractions you get are rounded to integers, since the data is based on physical objects which cannot have fractions, and so is considered extra for rounding purposes. Data may also me rounded in order for it to be understandable if the information is to be presented to other people, or just to keep important digits only to get an idea of scale. Extreme examples of this would be comparing the size of…

ISOQUANTS DEFINITION Isoquant (derived from quantity and the Greek word iso, meaning equal) is a contour line joining the set of all points at which a quantity of output is produced while varying quantities of two and/or more inputs. An indifference curve mapping helps us to arrive at the utility-maximization of consumers, the isoquant mapping deals with the cost-minimization of producers. Isoquants are ideally drawn alongside isocost curves in capital-labour graphs, showing the technological trade-off between capital and labour in the production function, and also the decreasing marginal returns of both inputs. Increasing one input while holding the other one constant inevitably leads to decreasing marginal output, and this is reflected in the shape of…
