The march was set up by the #MeToo movement, their goal is to not ignore the stories of sexual harassment in the modern day world. This movement has brought celebrities and other activists to revoke the told and untold stories on this sensitive topic. One major celebrity that came was Academy Award winner Viola Davis. She talked about high levels of race, women’s rights and other things regarding the topic of discrimination. “The trauma of those events are still with me today. All actresses that attended wore all black in order to unite against the misconduct involving Hollywood’s own Harvey Weinstein. Weinstein has been publicly accused of sexual misconduct by several women. This silent protest caused many eyes to turn that night, especially to the men with higher authority. Presenters and actresses like Meryl Streep, Mary J. Blige, and Gal Gadot precipitated for the protest.
